Itinerary

The itinerary is flexible as the aim is to provide an enjoyable weekend of sailing experiences which are of interest to those onboard. There is lot to do in the Solent and numerous interesting ports within easy reach such as Yarmouth, Lymington and Beaulieu to the west and Portsmouth, Port Solent, Chichester and Bembridge to the east. It is an ideal area for practicing navigation and pilotage, few areas have as many opportunities to experience the practical challenges of good seamanship. Click here for a map of the area. The format of the weekend is:

Friday Evening

Join Dreamcatcher Friday evening for a meal on board at 7pm. Safety briefing followed by a discussion of options for the weekend which are of course weather dependent but may include:

      • Passage to any of the Solent ports
      • Boat handling/Spinnaker/Heavy weather sailing
      • Berthing and Anchoring
      • Man overboard recovery
      • Pilotage
      • Night navigation

Saturday

Saturday meals provided on board with a night sail if required or spend the night in another port and eat in a local restaurant.

Sunday

Breakfast and lunch on board. Sail as planned returning to Mercury Marina by 3pm to sort out the boat disembarking for journey home by 4.00pm

Food and Berthing Costs

The costs for berthing vary depending on the locations visited. Similarly food costs depend to some extent on the amount of wine consumed at dinner. These costs are shared by all on board and typically amount to £20 to £30 per person.
